The matchup is set: The Houston Rockets will face the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semifinals.
The fifth-seeded Jazz advanced to the second round after pulling off the upset in the first, knocking off Russell Westbrook and the disappointing Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 Friday night, winning their series 4-2.
The Rockets were 4-0 against the Jazz in the regular season, but three of those games were earlier in the year before the Jazz took off. The Rockets did beat the Jazz in Utah in late February while they were red-hot, doing so on the tail end of a back-to-back to boot.
James Harden was a beast this season against the Jazz, averaging 34.3 points on 55.4% shooting, including 43.2% from downtown. He added 6.8 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals. Eric Gordon averaged 21.0 points, hitting a blistering 48.4% from three.
Game 1 is Sunday at Toyota Center at 2:30 pm.
