Is Terrence Williams a point guard? He thinks so.

The Houston Rockets have two point guards, Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry, looking to each be starters playing 30-35 minutes. They also have a surprising rookie addition in Ish Smith, a point guard they opted to keep for the rest of the season and one they called back up from the NBDL. Throw in the fact that Courtney Lee plays some spot minutes at the one for defensive purposes, and it looks like the Rockets just don’t have the minutes to quite satisfy everyone. Continue reading

In quest for size, Adelman turning to Courtney Lee as backup point

Rick Adelman is making a rotation change… at least for now. The Rockets coach said on Monday after practice that he’s going to get Jermaine Taylor some minutes and turn to Courtney Lee as the backup point, meaning Ish Smith will head to the bench. Continue reading

Put away the gas masks: the 2010-11 Houston Rockets have won an NBA game. The Minnesota Timberwolves, the perfect tonic for a winless squad, came to town and the Rockets wasted no time getting that first ‘W’, rolling to a 120-94 rout Sunday night. Continue reading

Rockets cut 4 and Ish Smith still standing

The Rockets waived four players today — Mike Harris, Alexander Johnson, Antonio Anderson and Jerel McNeal (who was to join the team when they got back from China, and they got back today). Houston had to make the moves by Thursday, but felt it was best to do it now. Continue reading
