NBA Draft Lottery: 5 Teams To Watch

Roll out 12 overachieving role players and sprinkle in a little myopia from the front office, and the Houston Rockets are in the exact same spot for the third straight season — holding the bag on the final (14th) seed in the NBA Draft Lottery. As a result, Chandler Parsons, representing the Rockets at tonight’s lottery, should be able to clock out fairly quickly when the results are announced. Continue reading

Keep an eye on Deron Williams, because the Rockets sure will

Just before the lockout started, the Summer of 2012 was shaping up as the Howard & Paul Free-For-All, but it was made emphatically clear to me then that neither player was considered the key get for the Rockets. Houston’s top target was New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams, multiple sources told ClutchFans. Continue reading

Is Terrence Williams a point guard? He thinks so.

The Houston Rockets have two point guards, Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry, looking to each be starters playing 30-35 minutes. They also have a surprising rookie addition in Ish Smith, a point guard they opted to keep for the rest of the season and one they called back up from the NBDL. Continue reading

Bombs Away! Rockets nail 16 threes to cage Grizzlies

One of the many reasons the Rockets started the season as loss collectors was they couldn’t hit their three-point shots. That wasn’t the case Friday night in Memphis. Continue reading

After further review, Rockets lose to Rose, Bulls

One of the Rockets “keys to the game” was to stop Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. Yeah… that didn’t quite work out. Rose exploded for 33 points — including 17 in the game-changing fourth quarter — as the Rockets fell 95-92 Tuesday night at home to the Bulls. Continue reading

Welcome back, Mr. Lowry: Rockets drop Pacers 102-99

Aaron Brooks is out, Yao Ming is out and the Pacers have been shooting lights out, so it looked like the Houston Rockets would be cows heading to the slaughter Friday night in Indiana. Continue reading
